As of October 1, 2009 - All new residential and commercial construction MUST follow Dallas’ Green Building Ordinance.
The City of Dallas Building Inspection Office improves the quality of life for Dallas citizens by ensuring compliance with established construction standards and by enforcing City codes.
Building Inspection is committed to quality customer service. The development community has access to a wide range of online business activities.
Services offered online include:
- Apply for permits
- Pay for and immediately receive certain permits through secure online transactions
- Validate and renew registrations
- Track plan review comments
- Request inspections and have real time access to inspection results
- Search for information about development activity in the city, including whether a permit has been issued for a particular worksite and for what type of work by clicking on "Applications and Inspections Online"
- Submit site plans for review and approval prior to completing the construction drawings
- If the City identifies code problems with your project then you can work them out before applying for a building permit, thus cutting the review time in half.
- Details for making a site plan review submittal can be obtained at any of the Building Inspection offices.
