Multi-Tenant Registration Program
In accordance with Section 27-31of the Dallas City Code multi-tenant properties of three or more units for lease and five years of age and older, are required to be inspected at least once every three years. These properties include leased condominiums, extended stay hotel/motel, boarding homes as well as group homes. A score of 85 or better must be made to pass the inspection. In addition, all multi-tenant properties are required to register annually with the Department of Code Compliance as well as the Office of Special Collections.
ALL PROPERTIES ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A COMPLETED REGISTRATION APPLICATION PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1st OF EACH YEAR.
New fee changes effective March 1, 2007.
A fee of $2.00 per the total number of units is required at the time of registration, which is to be submitted by October 1st annually. There is no fee for properties which pass inspection, however properties that fail inspection (score less than 85) are invoiced an amount of $25.00 times the total number of units. Properties which are unable to provide documentation as required by Chapter 27 receive an administrative failure and are invoiced the amount of $15.00 times the total number of units. Re-inspections of any noted violations are invoiced the amount of $45.00 per unit and/or building.
